Hi guys. Been a minute??
From the bottom most part of my heart I apologize to you guys for the silence here. I’ve been back to school and all the business and honestly, this week was the craziest one week of my life (it gets crazier). Mainly because I was over 3 weeks late but I’m almost done catching up. There’s also the fact that I have almost zero internet reception in my room. So now I just schedule posts for when I’m in a service enabled area.
I woke up today missing someone I’ve intentionally not been talking to because she hurt me. I’m usually not the type to hold a grudge because I’m of the opinion, life is never that serious. But I was hurt. I haven’t spoken to her for 4 days now and I plan to end it today. It’s been the longest 4 days mehn. wew. If you’re a regular at not speaking to people once you’re offended, stop it. It’s doing you more harm than it is the other person.
I have 3 books for my daily devotional and somehow, 2 of them were in the same line of discussion. (coincidence? I think not) I believe God did it on purpose to reach out to me.
Hence my decision to let go of the heavy heart today.
Kindness is not being a ‘do-gooder’
Kindness is not just demonstrated by giving to those who are in need. That of course is one interpretation of kindness but that’s not all there is to being kind.
To be kind? You have to give to those who need when they need it and according to God’s guidance. I.e don’t just give to someone because they are in need, there should also be that God factor guiding you to give. Kindness should not be separated from God because God is kindness and kindness is God.
Giving people at the wrong time can take from them Something of greater value than what you have given them.
We need the holy spirits direction in giving.
Did you know? Forgiving is giving? Forgiving is kindness? The more you give the more you posses and vice-versa.
Are you currently bearing any form of hate against anyone? I believe like me, God led you to this post for a reason. To let it go.
“Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as Christ God forgave you.”
The second devotional talks about using your treasure in light of eternity. Which still translates to giving. And we have established that giving is an act of kindness which automatically connects these 2 discussions.
God sends a message to us in the bible through Timothy,
“Tell them to use their money to do good. They should be rich in good works and should give happily to those in need, always being ready to share with others whatever God has given them. By doing this they will be storing up real treasure for themselves in heaven — it is the only safe investment for eternity! And they will be living a fruitful Christian life down here as well”
Where are you storing up your treasures, heaven or earth?
“For what shall it profit a man to gain the whole world and loose his soul”
What’s your definition of kindness?
Here’s a new one for you.
I pray God gives us all the heart to be genuinely kind.
